TRUWDES was promoted and registered in 1987 under the Tamilnadu Societies Registration Act of 1975 at Tiruchirapalli destrict by the Social Worker who have worked with NGOs togather.

 

TRUWDES aimed to educate the public to focus its attention on childcare especially the children in the lowest economic strata of society will get benefited and brought up well. It aimed to enabling the women in rural and urban pockets to create awareness, and mobilize them for their empowering through the organization of skill training, groups, exposer, experience sharing and networking with the other women groups for unified endeavors.

Senior Citizens Home for the Aged and Elderly Persons at Valavanthankottai, Tiruchirapalli district.
​

In order to enable the abandoned aged and elderly senior citizens from the poorest families in the district, TRUWDES has established shelter for the aged and elderly persons at Valavanthankottai, Tiruchirapalli district in 2001. This home for the aged and elderly persons has been aided by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, New Delhi to maintain the shelter for the aged and elderly inmates. The inmates are being provided with nutrition, health care, dresses, bedding, recreation, leisure time activities, TV, Yoga training,  outing to nearby places both historical and religious importance. Counseling for the inmates and their kith and kin, relatives are being done.

Arrangements for the indoor games, Goat Tiger game, Snake and Ladder, Carrom Board, Pallanguli and other traditional Tamil games have been done.

 

Families’ motivation to keep the inmates with the families is also being done regularly. Awareness campaign in the neighborhood and villages are being done on the importance of aged family members and their presence in the family for the well being and growth of the future generations.

On October 1, 2018, International Day for the Aged and Elderly has been celebrated at the home. Sports activities among the inmates were organized. All the participants were given prizes and for the fun that they have created on the day. Professors and Students from National Institute of Technology is the chief guests who turned out and appreciated the inmates for their contribution to the nation and the families. Sweets and prizes were distributed to the inmates.

Crèche for Preschool Children at Manchampatti, Dindigul district

​

Day Care Center for the preschool children (tribes and non tribes) who live in the dense forests of Kodaikanal valley has been established and in function at Manchampatti village of Dindigul district in Kodaikanal region. 25 children in the age group of 0-5 years have been accommodated and served at the Crèche.

 

One full time Care taker and helper is looking after the nutrition, leisure, plays and leisure time activities of the children at their care. Health nurse is doing health checkups of these children. Parents meetings are being done every month on the health, growth and development of the children. House visits are also being done by the Crèche Workers frequently to the families of these children.
